Here’s some great footage of some AE86 guys having a blast on Ebisu Circuit’s north course. Makes me wanna hop on a plane and go over there ASAP! One cool thing about Japanese tracks that I like compared to over here stateside is that some of them are just open; pay a park fee and you can go in and practice as opposed to waiting for a scheduled event to get some track time.

Pacific Raceway Drift Demo
Posted in: Drifting, Featured Video
Team Instant Party recently did a drift demo over at Pacific Raceway in Kent,WA. Since this is at the newly built go-kart area its a very tight and technical track. Even though there’s not a lot of speed involved, its usually lots of fun. It really reminds me of some of the D1GP courses in Japan.

Formula D Rd 5 Aftermath
Posted in: Event Coverage

So recently the Formula Drift circuit took it’s yearly pit stop in the pacific northwest to lay down some rubber at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe,WA. Alot of drivers say this is their favorite track because of the insane entry speeds and super high banked corner. unluckily for them however, the track doesn’t like everyone back. several cars bit the dust including veteran driver Dai Yoshiara in his IS350; Which took a beating and ripped off most of the left side of his car.
anyways, in a nutshell this year was awesome! It gave some of our local drivers here in the northwest a chance at getting some well due national spotlight. Also, ton of fans showed up to support the northwest drifting culture and i can’t wait to see what’s ahead for next year. I’ll also include a link below to a thread that Erik from over at nwtuner.com created to show off some of his awesome photography skills. Thanks for reading!

Joon Maeng at FD Round 5
Posted in: 180SX / Silvia / 240SX, Drifting, General, Nissan
I gotta give this guy a little bit of spotlight here on Nissan Pacific. let me explain why^_^ so at Formula Drift Round 5 in seattle I got the chance to volunteer on the track so i was in a front row seat for most of the action. one of the cool perks i got was the chance to chat with alot of the drivers and get to know them a bit better. one of my friends adam that was working on the track with me said i had to meet this guy Joon Maeng. after talking with the him for a few minutes he was such a nice and laidback guy. some drivers after runs would go hide up in their trailers or whatnot. not this guy! he was outside talking with all the fans, signing autographs, and thanking everybody for their support. for a majority of the day it looked like his S13.5 was running pretty well with his built SR20DET. alot of his lines seemed pretty good also with decent smoke and angle. unfortunately he got knocked out when the competition went to the top 32. but he was a great sport about it. if there’s ever an FD event in your area be sure to go check it out cheer him on and try and talk to this guy! you can contact him at some of the links below.
