Here’s some great footage of some AE86 guys having a blast on Ebisu Circuit’s north course. Makes me wanna hop on a plane and go over there ASAP! One cool thing about Japanese tracks that I like compared to over here stateside is that some of them are just open; pay a park fee and you can go in and practice as opposed to waiting for a scheduled event to get some track time.

Zipties: Drifter’s Duct-tape
Posted in: Drifting
Just a cool little video I found on one of the forums I frequent. Would you go this far to keep your aero together? I think after this second puzzle piece, I’d say screw it and roll without one.

Formula Drift Round 7 coverage
Posted in: Website
“The House of Drift” well that’s what they call the Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, and this is where the final round of the Formula Drift season took place this last weekend. The event definitely lived up to its name and made an amazing finale.
The top 32 elimination round kicked off with some surprising results. The first driver to be eliminated was Rhys Millen in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, who was beaten by Tyler McQuarrie in the Falken 350z. Tyler would finish up the night in 2nd place being outdone by Ryan Tuerck. Tanner Foust with the Rockstar Energy Drink Scion Tc took 3rd.
Although Ryan Tuerck took first place at this event the true victor was Chris Forsberg. After qualifying for the top 32 Forsberg only needed to eliminate one opponent to earn enough points to win the 2009 Formula Drift season. Chris accomplished this very early on after knocking out Doug VanDerBrink. When the judges made their announcement Chris was met at the starting grid by teammates and friends and hoisted in to the air.
At the victory ceremony that evening Chris not only took first place for the season, but became the first for a couple of other things. He also won the Tires.com Triple Crown bonus, and was announced as the first non-traditional race car driver to win the Formula Drift Championship. -

D1GP – Blitz R35 GT-R
Posted in: Website

When the Nissan GT-R was released there was a loud cry from fans: “Give us a proper manual!” they demanded. Given the layout of the car’s drivetrain (rear dual-clutch transaxle), the logical conclusion was that a manual gearbox swap simply wasn’t possible.
Blitz has been eagerly building their D1GP spec R35 in throughout 2009, Nomuken will pilot this GT-R, equipped with a Holinger Sequential Transmission. Try to find one of these used, yes you can. It will cost you up too 1,700,000 Yen, or $19,000 USD,
thats if you nab the one off of gtr.co.uk! Tomei Powered USA lists these at $30,000.00 USD MSRP! -
